Mystery Solved!

Mike & I spent Sunday at the pool and jacuzzi relaxing, eating, drinking and playing shuffleboard. We did get some boat chores done including Mike going to the top of the mast looking for anywhere a shackle may be missing and found nothing… the mystery of the pin found on the deck at sea continues…
Tuesday morning we decided to change the jib sheets since there was not much wind. Mike found where the pin came from! It had come out of a hinge on the front side of the sail locker on the bow… what a relief! New jib sheets on and spare line stored away we are getting Mermaid ready for a crossing back to La Paz.
Thursday – we had an amazing full moon! Mike, PeeWee and I walked over to the point behind the hotel and checked out the big waves rolling in (lots of wind today!) and stopped by the little outdoor restaurant by the jacuzzi for a steak and watched the moon rise over El Cid… what a beautiful site!
Friday evening we had a margarita by the pool before walking to a beach bar to hear a band, watch another beautiful sunset and do a little dancing. Later, we caught a pulmonia to Plaza Machado in Old Town Mazatlan for dinner at La Tramoia.
Saturday we bought tamales from Raul then worked on prepping Mermaid for the crossing to La Paz… our intent is to depart Sunday morning. We worked on the boat (and had the outside cleaned), played in the pool and walked to the Fish Market for dinner.
Sunday morning we woke to a beautiful and quiet day… perfect for a crossing we hope! Hot showers, coffee and we are ready as soon as high tide gets here.
