Pirates & Whales!

It takes two days to travel from Puerto Vallarta to Juneau Alaska. I arrived in Juneau on Sunday just a couple of hours before Autumn’s second birthday party. Stacy and Frank had the party at a local elementary school in a big common area and the kids got to play in the gym. The theme of the party was Pirate Princess and what an adorable pirate Autumn was. It was so fun to watch these two year olds interact and boy have they changed since the first birthday party last year. How fun to get to watch these families grow.
We ran errands on Labor Day morning and Stacy, Autumn and I went downtown to ride the tram to the top of the mountain. We ran into Frank’s cousin outside the entrance to the tram and he put us a whale watching trip. So, we hopped on a bus to Auke Bay where we boarded a whale watching excursion boat with guests from the cruise ships. Autumn loved when the boat went fast and when it bounced on the waves. We saw whales, eagles and sea lions. What a perfect day!
I have certainly enjoyed my time with Stacy, Frank, Autumn and the dogs and will miss them. The kids sold their condo this week and I got to see the house they are buying. I think they will be very happy in their new home, it is beautiful! Also, we sold the Yukon that Mike and I brought up in July. Thanks to Frank. The trip has gone by way too fast! I leave today for San Francisco and two weeks at the finals of the America’s Cup. Alaska is beautiful, but I am ready to be back in swimsuits and shorts… it has been cold and raining in Juneau this week.
